Frequently Asked Questions about the packages, the pricing logic and how we work together.

Which Pricing Need matches your situation?

Your Pricing Journey starts with the Pricing Need that best describes your current situation. The matching Pricing Package gives that need a clear working format. If your Pricing Need is Direction, the Strategy Package is the right fit. This package helps clarify pricing objectives, decision principles, strategic direction and stakeholder alignment. If your Pricing Need is First Draft, the Blueprint Package is the right fit. This package turns a clear direction into the first structured draft of your Pricing Model. If your Pricing Need is Market-Ready Model, the Market-Ready Package is the right fit. This package validates and refines a Pricing Blueprint, a Draft Pricing Model or an existing Pricing Model and develops it toward market readiness. If your Pricing Need is Management & Optimisation, the Management Package is the right fit. This package helps establish a repeatable pricing management rhythm. The first pricing model becomes the crystallization point for new features, product modules, countries, optimisations, competitive price adjustments and psychological price levers. If your Pricing Need is Resolution, the Resolution Package is the right fit. This package is a focused sprint for a concrete pricing question, for example packaging, pricing metric selection, migration logic, concession logic, price points or sales argumentation.

Do I always need Strategy Package before Blueprint Package?

No. Strategy Package is optional. It is useful when pricing goals, decision principles, strategic direction or stakeholder alignment are not yet clear. If direction and scope are already sufficiently clear, you can start directly with Blueprint Package.

What is the method behind the packages?

All Optimal Price packages are powered by the MUTUVAL® Framework. The framework structures pricing work around three practical questions: Who is the customer? What value do we create? How should this value be monetised? In the background, it connects customer segments, value proposition, price structure, price points and pricing levers. Customers buy the package and the pricing outcome. The MUTUVAL® Framework provides the method, structure and quality behind the work.

What does the Strategy Package deliver?

The Strategy Package helps clarify direction before pricing model design. The work creates clarity on pricing objectives and decision principles, assesses the current pricing situation, develops strategic pricing options, prioritises the most important pricing topics and aligns the recommended next step. Output: Pricing Strategy Summary; Decision Principles & Priorities; Pricing Roadmap; documented Miro board with results and next steps. Format: Online Strategy Workshop Package fee: €5,600 + VAT

What does the Blueprint Package deliver?

The Blueprint Package creates the first structured draft of your Pricing Model. The package walks your team through one focused iteration of the MUTUVAL® Framework. Depending on scope, this may focus on selected Customer Segments or selected parts of the Value Proposition. This focus is agreed during onboarding. The work covers Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Price Structure, Packaging, Monetisation, initial Price Point logic and the most important open decisions. Output: First Draft Pricing Model; up to 3 pricing scenarios; task list for completion of pricing model design; Miro board with activities and results; handout and framework for value-based pricing. Format: Online Blueprint Workshop Package fee: €5,600 + VAT The result is a first structured draft, not necessarily the final market-ready Pricing Model. It gives your team a clear foundation for decisions, refinement and next steps.

What does the Market-Ready Package deliver?

The Market-Ready Package develops your Pricing Model toward market readiness. It starts from a Pricing Blueprint, a Draft Pricing Model or an existing Pricing Model and improves it through Market Model Sprints. The work refines an existing draft, validates relevant model assumptions, clarifies packaging, metrics, price points and go-to-market logic and prepares the model for launch or internal approval. In many cases, the Market-Ready Package also expands or deepens the scope of the Pricing Model. This can include more detailed work on Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Price Structure (including Packaging, Differentiation and Monetisation), Price Points or Pricing Levers. Output: Refined Draft Pricing Model; market-ready design of the new pricing model; launch or lifecycle task list; documented decisions and results in the Miro board. Format: Online Market Model Sprints Package fee: from €8,400 + VAT

What does the Management Package deliver?

The Management Package helps teams optimise an existing pricing model and manage pricing beyond the first model design. It is useful when one defined Pricing Challenge needs focused work or when pricing should become a repeatable commercial management process rather than a one-off project. Typical Management Package topics include packaging questions, pricing metric selection, customer migration, price increases, price point setting, validation, concession logic, AI monetisation, credit logic, usage-based pricing, sales argumentation or the design of an ongoing pricing review rhythm. The work reviews the existing pricing model, identifies the most important improvement levers, optimises packaging, metrics, price points or concessions and supports an ongoing pricing management rhythm. Output: Pricing Model Review Summary; optimisation roadmap; lifecycle task list; documented decisions, open points and next iterations in the Miro board. Format: Online Optimisation Sprints Package fee: to be scoped

What does the Resolution Package deliver?

The Resolution Package helps teams solve one clearly defined Pricing Challenge without turning it into a full pricing model project. It is useful when the direction is mostly clear, but one commercial question still blocks a decision. Typical topics include packaging, pricing metric selection, price points, customer migration, concession logic, credit logic, AI monetisation, usage-based pricing or sales argumentation. The work includes focused analysis of the issue, evaluation of relevant options or scenarios, practical recommendation work and clarification of the next useful step. Output: Pricing Resolution Memo; recommendation or scenario; decision basis for management, sales or product teams; short documentation of analysis, results and open points. Format: Online Focus Sprints Package fee: from €780 + VAT

How are the packages delivered?

All packages are usually delivered online, using Microsoft Teams and a shared Miro board. You have access to the board throughout the work and can contribute directly while the pricing model takes shape. Another video platform can be used if you prefer. Strategy Package and Blueprint Package. Both packages follow the same delivery logic and include three modules: onboarding, collaborative working sessions, and Review & Next Steps. The modules are usually delivered within ten days in a compact online format, depending on availability, scope and preparation needs. Onboarding establishes the scope, clarifies the objective and reviews relevant input material before the working sessions. The collaborative working sessions create the core pricing outcome: Strategy Package creates direction, decision principles and the recommended next step, and Blueprint Package creates the first structured draft of your Pricing Model. The Review & Next Steps session closes the package. The results are documented, open questions or gaps are captured and the next useful pricing outcome is defined. Market-Ready Package. This package is delivered through Market Model Sprints. It starts from a Pricing Blueprint, a Draft Pricing Model or an existing Pricing Model and develops it toward market readiness. The package can be scaled depending on scope, complexity, maturity level and decision needs. Individual sprints or milestones can focus on topics such as Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Price Structure (including Differentiation, Packaging and Monetisation), Price Points, Pricing Levers, validation, migration logic, concession logic or sales argumentation. Management Package. This package is delivered through focused Optimisation Sprints. It can start with one defined Pricing Challenge and can develop into a repeatable pricing management process rather than a one-off pricing model project. Typical examples include packaging, pricing metrics, customer migration, price increases, validation, concession logic, AI monetisation, credit logic, usage-based pricing, sales argumentation or ongoing review routines. The Optimisation Sprint includes scope definition, focused working sessions and a documented result. Depending on the issue, the result can be a recommendation, scenario, solution logic, roadmap, optimisation priorities, pricing management rhythm or clear next steps. Resolution Package. This package is delivered through Online Focus Sprints. It is used when one clearly defined Pricing Challenge needs to be solved without developing the full Pricing Model. Typical examples include packaging, pricing metric selection, price points, customer migration, concession logic, credit logic, AI monetisation, usage-based pricing or sales argumentation.

Who should participate?

For Strategy Package and Blueprint Package, we recommend a core group from the company consisting of one Pricing Leader and up to five Pricing Team Members. This size is large enough to include the most relevant perspectives and small enough to work productively on the Pricing Model. The MUTUVAL® Framework helps these stakeholders build a common understanding of the Customer Segments, Value Proposition and the Pricing Model as well as the goals and the strategy behind it. This common understanding is often one of the most important results of the work, because pricing decisions become easier to explain, discuss and defend internally. Typical roles include: Pricing Leader The person from your company who is primarily responsible for the pricing topic and drives the work internally. Pricing Team Members Up to five people from your company who support the design of the Pricing Model from relevant departments such as Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, IT or Management. Selected Experts People who contribute specific knowledge, for example on customers, product logic, implementation, data, contracts, sales process or financial impact. Pricing Advisor Christian Wirth, Optimal Price GmbH, who guides the process, structures the pricing work and applies the MUTUVAL® Framework.

Can the participant group change over time?

Yes. This is often useful. At the beginning, especially in Strategy Package and Blueprint Package, a core group consisting of one Pricing Leader and up to five Pricing Team Members helps create a shared understanding of Customer Segments, Value Proposition and the Pricing Model as well as the goals and the strategy behind it. Later, when the Pricing Model logic is clearer and the MUTUVAL® Framework is understood, the work can become more focused. Individual Market Model Sprints or Management Package work can be run with smaller expert groups, for example on customer migration, validation, sales communication or ongoing pricing optimisation. If useful, a Sounding Board or Steering Board can be added to review progress, create alignment and support decisions.

Do we receive documentation?

Yes. The work is documented in a practical form. Depending on the package and scope, this can include a Miro board, workshop handout, result summary, Pricing Model Strategy, Pricing Model Blueprint, First Draft Pricing Model, Draft Pricing Model versions, scenarios, documented gaps, roadmap, recommendation, solution logic, playbook elements or next-step recommendation. The documentation is meant to support decisions and continuation. It is not documentation for its own sake.
